DUC DUC

Duc Duc goose!  We love this high-end collection of well designed furniture for little ones.  The attention to detail and the ability to make each piece your own make this company a true stand out.

Meet the people that make it happen...David Harris, Philip Erdoes, Brady Wilcox and the team at ducduc.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE DUCDUC?

Our CEO, Philip Erdoes, could not find any cool and well-made furniture for his daughter’s room.

WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME?

Just what you think it is...the children’s game.
Then our Chief Creative Officer, Brady Wilcox, suggested we drop the k and the logo was born…ducduc.

WE LOVE THAT YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE THE PIECES TO MAKE THEM EVEN MORE SPECIAL.  WHAT IS THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS CUSTOM REQUEST YOU HAVE RECEIVED?

There have been several.  We did an amazing dylan system entirely in walnut.
We’ve also done some crazy color combinations for clients. We want people to be creative.

WE ARE OBSESSED WITH THE ENTIRE COLLECTION, BUT THE CABANA COLLECTION IS ONE OF OUR FAVORITES.   IS THERE AN ICONIC PIECE THAT STARTED THE COLLECTION?

We needed a four poster canopy bed and then came the vanity.  It’s for the princess in every little girl.

WHAT SHOULD OUR READERS KNOW ABOUT DUCDUC THAT MAKES IT SPECIAL?

We make every piece at our factory in Connecticut out of hardwoods and we have amazing non-toxic, water-based finishes we have been perfecting for years.

WHERE IS THE BRAND BASED?

Our offices and showroom are in Soho in New York.  Come see us!

IF WE WERE VISITING YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, WHAT WOULD BE ON YOUR LIST FOR US TO SEE/DO/EAT/SHOP?

Well, Balthazar is downstairs so that would be number one.  We also like the Crosby Street Hotel and Raoul’s for Steak Frites.
The Children’s Museum for the Arts is around the corner for the kids.
And, Saturday Surf NYC for us city dwellers who long for the beach.

BEST BUSINESS ADVICE YOU RECEIVED?

Don’t take no for an answer.

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOU STARTED DUCDUC?

Between us we have done it all except underwater basket weaving.

WHAT/WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST SOURCE OF INSPIRATION?

The children and parents who come to the showroom and love the duc!

FIVE THINGS YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT.

Our families, our friends, long vacations, strong drinks and, of course, New York City.

WHERE DO YOU SEE THE BRAND IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?

We are going to continue to grow the collections we already have and launch many new designs.
  Perhaps a ducduc shop too!

Thanks ducduc!
